Moisture Control & Analysis Q&A

  •   What do you have to measure moisture in a powder falling down a 6-in. diam tube, and what kind of control outputs can you provide?

In response to your question, our MCT360 Moisture Analyzer with Powder Sampler accessory will give you the ability to make the measurement inside your 6-in. diam tube.

The MCT Powder Sampler is an accessory that allows the MCT sensor to make measurements on products that are free falling inside enclosed ducts. It consists of a stainless-steel tube, on the end of which is a sample cup complete with glass viewing window.

The sampler’s routine is controlled by a software routine in the sensor and an external solenoid valve for purging the sample.

The routine allows the cup to fill, the sensor to take an average, eject the sample from the cup, and repeat the sequence. A typical cycle time is 40 seconds.

Supplied with the sampler is a welding spud; the installation of the spud determines the insertion depth of the sampler. Ideally, you need to be in the center of the pipe to ensure the sample cup is filled from the free falling powder.

The Control Outputs we provide are:

    Analog:
    0-10V isolated
    4-20mA/0-20mA isolated

    Digital:
    RS232/485
    Ethernet TCP/IP
    Ethernet IP
    DeviceNet
    Profibus
    Modbus
